Report a stray or dangerous dog

Report a stray dog

If you find a stray dog, you should:

  • contain the dog, if it is safe to do so
  • look for identification on its collar
  • return it directly to its owner (if possible)

If you cannot identify the dog

If the dog has no identification or you're unable to return it to its owner, you are legally required to call our dog control service on 03444 828 320. A dog warden will arrange to collect it.

This number is operational 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
