The Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS)

Local Nature Recovery Strategies (LNRS) are an important part of the Environment Act 2021. They are being developed across England to help protect and improve nature.

These plans are helping organisations and communities work together more effectively. They guide practical action and investment so that nature and people can flourish together, while also improving the wider environment.

The Local Nature Recovery Strategy for Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes explains how we will restore and improve nature across the area.

It took 2 years to develop and was shaped by feedback from many different groups, including:

  • environmental organisations
  • species experts
  • local businesses
  • developers
  • farmers and landowners
  • community groups
  • members of the public
