Free digital food vouchers for the school holidays

Support in the school holidays for households eligible for Free School Meals will come to an end after May half-term 2026.

A new funding programme has been introduced, which is effective from April 2026, called the Crisis and Resilience Fund.

The new Crisis and Resilience fund does not allow us to make payments to all households in receipt of free school meals every school holiday. This is not a policy choice, it is something which we are no longer permitted to do.

Children in Reception to Year 11 who receive benefits-related free school meals can also get a healthy hot meal at every free HAF holiday club they attend during the Easter, summer and Christmas school holidays.

If eligible, you will receive an email or text message before the holiday period from HolidayActivities.com which will contain a HAF voucher.

If you are not eligible for HAF, families are encouraged to use existing community support such as kids eat free offers and community cafés.
