What you can do if you are affected by modern slavery

Modern slavery is when people are:

  • forced by threats or violence to work for little or no pay
  • given no power to control what work they do or where they do it

This can include

  • domestic slavery
  • forced sex work
  • being forced to take part in crimes
  • forced labour
  • child exploitation

Modern slavery is also known as:

  • human trafficking
  • forced labour
  • domestic servitude
