Freight steering working group

A Steering group has been set-up to provide a forum for communities affected by flooding.

This group will work collaboratively with stakeholders through constructive and open conversations to seek to eliminate the negative physical and environmental impacts of HGV traffic on the people, infrastructure and countryside of the Haddenham and Waddesdon Community Board Area whilst accommodating the legitimate interests of HGV vehicle operators.

Core members

Our core members are:

  • Chair – John Lewis
  • Board coordinator - Elaine Hassall
  • Buckinghamshire Council Councillors
  • Affected Parish Councils
  • Residents

Structure and function

The Steering Group is an informal meeting of the Haddenham and Waddesdon Community Board.

The Working Group through consensus will:

  • agree priorities and provide an agenda for each meeting.
  • Set the frequency of meetings; it is proposed that these are monthly at first, but members of the working group will have the ability to request a meeting at short notice should there be a need for it.
  • Various smaller working groups will be formed tasked with specific actions.

The group can request expertise from other Services within the Council where this is identified.

Special advisors

Our special advisors are:

  • Buckinghamshire Council Strategic Transport & Infrastructure Team
  • Transport for Buckinghamshire

Reporting and governance arrangements

Community Board Coordinators will, on behalf of the Steering Group, organise meetings, draft agendas, capture actions and update the group’s Action Plan.

Questions should be submitted 2 weeks before the next meeting.

Agendas will be circulated a week in advance.
