3. Our sponsorship principles
The following principles should be applied to all sponsorship agreements:
- protection and enhancement the Council’s reputation and brand identity
- ensuring the proportional use of Council money best value is obtained through any sponsorship arrangements, including any arrangements made where we receive either money or a benefit in kind
- ensuring accountability and transparency of decision making,
- ensuring compliance with relevant legislation (including but not limited to the Equality Act 2010) and other Council policies
- managing potential conflicts of interest
- protecting members and officers from allegations of inappropriate dealings or relationships with sponsors
- ensuring that the Council consistently implements its commitment to health promotion, especially in consideration of children and young people
