Apply to temporarily suspend a bus stop
If you're undertaking work in or around a bus stop, you must request a bus stop suspension.
Before you begin
If you're carrying out other works alongside the bus stop suspension (for example, a road closure) you'll need to apply separately for any other appropriate highway licence or permits first or we will not grant the bus stop suspension itself.
How to apply
Apply for a suspension by emailing [email protected].
You'll need to provide the:
- permit number
- date and time of works
- bus stop name or number (number should begin 'buc' or '040')
- location of the stop or stops shown on a map
- name of the utility company carrying out the works
You should provide as much notice as possible in advance. All works, except emergencies, must be booked at least 1 week in advance.
After you submit your application
If approved, we'll send you a link to pay for the bus stop suspension.
This costs £108 per stop.
Cancelling your bus stop suspension
If you need to cancel or postpone a bus stop suspension, email [email protected].
You'll need to do this by 9am on the day the works were meant to start or the suspension will still be chargeable.
