Volunteering with Buckinghamshire Libraries
View the services we offer, how you could help us and how to volunteer.
How you could help us
You could help by assisting residents with all the services we offer.
We have a wide variety of books in different formats and other resources to enable residents to:
- study
- pursue hobbies and interests
- expand their minds
We provide (and host) a range of cultural and health and wellbeing activities, and offer a welcoming space for many clubs, including:
- reading groups
- craft groups
- LEGO clubs
- Bounce and Rhyme
- storytime
We also help people to gain basic digital skills so that they can access the services and information that they need online.
Benefits of volunteering
We are fortunate to have the support of many volunteers across all our libraries who help us deliver these services.
Volunteers tell us they come because they enjoy:
- meeting people
- using their skills
- giving back to their community
- having fun
Check for volunteering vacancies
Contact or visit the library you would like to volunteer at, and ask if there any volunteering vacancies.

All volunteer roles require references, and some will require a DBS certificate, which the library will arrange if needed.
