The Buckinghamshire Works Plan
About Buckinghamshire Works
Local areas are required by central government to develop and implement local 'Get Britain Working' plans. These plans form part of the national strategy to reduce economic inactivity and improve employment outcomes for individuals.
Buckinghamshire Works is Buckinghamshire’s local Get Britain Working plan. The title reflects Buckinghamshire’s comparatively high employment rate.
The plan is co-designed by:
- Buckinghamshire Council
- Jobcentre Plus
- Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West Integrated Care Board (BOB ICB)
It sets out how partners will work together to help more local residents access good work.
The plan will be regularly updated and will change over time to take into account:
- organisational changes (for example, the creation of a new Jobs and Careers Service)
- new national policies
Evidence
The plan is based on:
- statistical evidence on local employment, skills, health and economic trends
- engagement with local stakeholders
Governance
The plan and any associated actions are overseen by the Buckinghamshire Works Partnership, which is made up of representatives from each of the organisations that co-designed the plan.
