Proud of Bucks Awards

The Proud of Bucks Awards celebrate the people and communities across Buckinghamshire who show care, creativity and commitment to their local areas. These awards recognise and applaud the outstanding contributions made by volunteers who make a real difference.

Award categories

For 2026, all award categories are open to nominees from anywhere in Buckinghamshire, giving us the chance to shine a light on inspiring volunteers from every part of the county.

Nominations should highlight achievements from the past year, so we can celebrate the impact volunteers are making right now.

The Newcomer For a community project or group that has been established in the past 18 months.
The Environmental Impact For a project or group that has contributed to improving the local environment.
The Improving Health and Wellbeing Recognises and celebrates a voluntary group in the local area who has made a positive impact on their community for example delivering a service, championing a cohort of residents or supporting and enhancing local spaces.
The Reducing Social Isolation For a project or group that has reduced social isolation in or for a particular community.
Town and Parish Council Community For a community project that has been led or delivered by the council to make the community a better place to live.
The Community Connectedness For groups (such as Street Associations and Residents Associations) who have brought communities together and taken action to improve their community.
Volunteer Of The Year (adult over the age of 21 years old) For someone who has shown commitment to volunteering to support their local community.
Young Volunteer Of The Year (young person under the age of 21 on or before 1st January 2026) For someone who has shown commitment to volunteering to support their local community.
School Or College Community Contribution For a project or initiative that has supported the local community.
Lifetime Achievement For an individual who has made a significant contribution and positive impact to their local community across their lifetime.
