WhizzFizz 2025

WhizzFizz is back for 2025, with a summer of free ‘Weekends of Wonder’ for families in Buckinghamshire. WhizzFizz gives all children the chance to enjoy cultural events and activities, and this year we have everything from Lego building with The Brick People to dance and immersive theatre.

Weekends of Wonder

WhizzFizz Weekends of Wonder are coming to Aylesbury and High Wycombe this summer, bringing an array of free family events for everyone to enjoy.

From crafting activities with Makendoo to dance workshops with Sin Cru, plus a host of performances from local artists, you won’t want to miss out.

No need to book, just turn up and join in the fun!

Makendoo - Pirates

Makendoo

Makendoo painting and making workshops are a fabulous activity for children (and adults). Everyone can join in the fun, painting and making a huge range of masks, hats, puppet characters or small banners, all finished off with plenty of glitter to provide an instant carnival atmosphere whatever the occasion. Children leave the workshop carrying, wearing and waving their artworks, which are lasting souvenirs of a great day out.

Carlos Airhead

The metamorphosis of a man and a six-foot balloon. Carlos Airhead, with a volunteer, disappears inside a balloon for a fantastic comedy dance routine before a truly surprising and explosive finish. A show full of laughs and fun for all the family.

SIN Cru 1

SIN Cru Performances and Dance Workshops

Join SIN Cru in Market Square for exhilarating performances and dance workshops you won’t want to miss. With dancers from many different styles including Locking, Poppin’, and BBoyin’, SIN Cru gives everyone access to arts and culture in safe and creative ways.

The dance workshops are designed for children aged 7 and over.

Dread Falls Theatre 1

Dread Falls Theatre Presents Tanglewood Tales

When: Saturday 19 July

Time: 11am to 12pm

Where: Aylesbury Library

Faustus the faun is Tanglewood's most famous author. At least that's what he wants you to think. In reality he's having trouble writing his book, and with the deadline looming, his writer's block is only getting worse. Luckily, the forest is full of inspiration. Maybe Faustus will get that book written after all!

Dread Falls Theatre Presents Professor Octavia's Magical Menagerie

Get ready for a whirlwind of wonder with the flamboyant Professor Octavia; explorer extraordinaire! She has travelled the world in search of magical and mythical creatures. As she reels off tale after incredible tale of wrestling sea serpents, finding fairies, and jaunting with jackalopes, you might think she's pulling your leg. But just wait until the grand finale when you meet the rarest creature in her collection; a fire-breathing marvel, proving once and for all that truth is stranger than fiction.

The Brick People 6

The BRICK People present… an event Featuring LEGO® Bricks!

When: Saturday 9 August

Time: 10:30am to 3:30pm

Where: Aylesbury Library

Come along to a family driven LEGO® Brick event where you can play, interact and share in your creativity through the medium of LEGO®.

This event contains self-guided activities including mosaic building and random brick building, along with monitored build challenges for children and adults, such as the Timed Tower and speed build model building challenge, where names of the challengers are written on a leaderboard for the day for all to see.

Can you beat the record for the Timed Tower of 65 bricks in 1 minute?!

Makendoo

Children of all ages can join in the fun, painting and making a huge range of masks, hats, puppet characters or small banners, all finished off with plenty of glitter to provide an instant carnival atmosphere whatever the occasion. Up to 240 children leave the workshop carrying, wearing and waving their artworks, which are lasting souvenirs of a great day out.

Plain Bob

An innocent and gentle show with no words, an interactive audience adventure under Bob’s umbrella world. As the audience watches, the stage is created from suitcases, an umbrella, and a raincoat. Audience members are invited to the stage to help Bob with his simple tasks.
