Thank you to everyone who joined us for the magical WhizzFizz Weekends of Wonder in Aylesbury and High Wycombe over the summer – what a fantastic celebration of creativity and community!

Now, we’re turning our attention to Chesham, where the WhizzFizz spirit continues with a vibrant line-up of free, family-friendly events which includes immersive storytelling from Dread Falls Theatre and a drop-in art workshop. Plus, get your budding artists involved in our WhizzFizz art competition for a chance to win arty goodies!

Children's Art Competition and Exhibition

Calling all young artists! Create a drawing, painting or collage inspired by Chesham’s wonderful nature or scenery. We’ll have some crafty goodies as prizes for the winners, and all entries will be displayed at Chesham Library on Saturday 1 November.

Let’s get creative, Chesham! Good luck to all our budding artists!

  • 6 years and under (age on 1 November)
  • 7 – 11 years (age on 1 November)
  • 12 to 15 years (age on 1 November)

Don’t forget to fill in your entry form that you can pick up from the library. By submitting an entry, you are agreeing to have the artwork displayed as part of the exhibition.

Family Fun Day at Chesham Library – Saturday 1 November

Join us for the final celebration of WhizzFizz 2025 – a fun-filled day for all ages!

Enjoy free live performances, get creative with art activities, and explore the art exhibition showcasing work by local young artists. It’s a great way to bring the community together and wrap up this year’s WhizzFizz in style.

Dread Falls Theatre Presents Professor Octavia's Magical Menagerie

Get ready for a whirlwind of wonder with the flamboyant Professor Octavia; explorer extraordinaire! She has travelled the world in search of magical and mythical creatures. As she reels off tale after incredible tale of wrestling sea serpents, finding fairies, and jaunting with jackalopes, you might think she's pulling your leg. But just wait until the grand finale when you meet the rarest creature in her collection; a fire-breathing marvel, proving once and for all that truth is stranger than fiction.

Dread Falls Theatre 1

Dread Falls Theatre Presents Tanglewood Tales

When: Saturday 1 November

Time: 2pm to 3pm

Where: Chesham Library

Faustus the faun is Tanglewood's most famous author. At least that's what he wants you to think. In reality he's having trouble writing his book, and with the deadline looming, his writer's block is only getting worse. Luckily, the forest is full of inspiration. Maybe Faustus will get that book written after all!

Whizzfizz - Emily

Create with Emily: Drop-in Art Day

When: Saturday 1 November

Time: 10am to 4pm

Where: Chesham Library

Explore your creativity in a relaxed, welcoming space. There will be session throughout the day between 10am and 4pm to work alongside artist Emily Brown. Whether you're sketching, painting, or just curious, come and be inspired – we'll provide the art supplies. Watch this space to book a spot.

Come and see what local young people have been working on. Their artwork inspired by Chesham’s wonderful nature and scenery is now on display at the library – an inspiring mix of creativity, colour and fresh ideas. Pop in and take a look!

Summer Highlights

Makendoo - Pirates 2

WhizzFizz Weekends of Wonder came to Aylesbury and High Wycombe this summer, bringing an array of free family events for everyone to enjoy.

From crafting activities with Makendoo painting and making workshops, dance workshops with Sin Cru, Lego creativity with the Brick People, plus a host of theatre performances and street entertainment, it’s been a blast!
