Now’s the Time LGBTQ+ Adoption & Fostering week

LGBTQ+ Adoption & Fostering Week returns on Monday 2 March 2026. Now in its fourteenth year, this annual UK campaign encourages LGBTQ+ people to consider adoption or fostering as routes to parenting and caring.

Now’s the time – this year’s theme – we are encouraging potential applicants who identify as LGBTQ+ to start their journey now. There’s never a perfect time to adopt but with an urgent need for more applicants, now’s the time to take the first steps.

The campaign is led by New Family Social and is unique in speaking directly to the LGBTQ+ community. Buckinghamshire Adoption Service is a Gold agency member of New Family Social, supporting LGBTQ+ adopters throughout the county.

You’re invited…

Join one of our regular online information sessions to discover more about adoption and how the team can support you every step of the way. You’ll hear inspiring, firsthand stories from adopters and have plenty of time to ask questions. These relaxed, free sessions are open to everyone—wherever you are in your adoption journey.

Now’s the time to attend an information session:

"The evening was very effective, calm, realistic but still optimistic. I’m so glad I came, thank you” - Jules, a prospective adopter

We need you! The adoption shortfall

The number of children needing adoption is high while the number of enquiries from potential adopters is in decline. Now’s the time to make a difference.
