Buckinghamshire Children’s Home Programme

We're recruiting staff to support our new children's homes in Buckinghamshire.

Our Children's Home Programme

Buckinghamshire Council is delivering a major transformation programme to create 10 high quality, local children’s homes for young people in care.

These homes are designed to provide secure, stable placements for more than 30 children and young people, ensuring they can remain close to familiar schools, friends, and communities. The new homes support:

  • Children and young people in care who need a stable, nurturing place to live.
  • Those who have experienced trauma, offering a calm, family style environment that promotes recovery and emotional stability.
  • Local families and communities, by keeping children within Buckinghamshire, maintaining important local connections.
  • Children needing an alternative to foster care where needed.

With over 500 children currently under the council’s care, the new homes provide essential support, alongside the help of a growing community of in house foster carers.

In the future, some children living in residential care may be ready to move into a family setting with a therapeutic foster carer who can support their specialist needs.
