Book a bulky item collection
Book a collection for large household items that cannot be collected with your usual bins, such as sofas, fridges or washing machines.
What it costs
The cost depends on the number of items you book:
- 1 to 3 items: £65
- 4 to 6 items: £130
- 7 to 9 items: £195
We do not offer discounts or exemptions.
What you can have collected
We collect the following types of items:
- large appliances, such as fridges, freezers, washing machines and dishwashers
- electrical items, such as TVs, computers, monitors, microwaves and vacuum cleaners
- furniture, such as wardrobes, tables, chairs, beds, mattresses and sofas
- garden items, such as barbecues, lawnmowers and dismantled play equipment
What we cannot collect
We do not collect the following:
- bathroom suites or shower cubicles
- boilers, water tanks or storage heaters
- building materials, such as kitchen units, doors, flooring, plasterboard or rubble
- garden waste
- glass panels or plate glass
- tyres or pianos
- asbestos
Before your collection
On the day of your collection:
- put your items out by 6am
- leave them where your bins are normally collected
- provide access details, such as gate codes, when you book
We cannot enter your property to collect items.
If you need help moving your items, ask a friend, neighbour or relative.
Cancel or change your booking
Contact us to cancel your current booking.
To change items or the collection date, you will need to cancel and rebook.
You will get a full refund if you cancel at least 2 working days before your collection. Read our bulky waste terms and conditions.
If your items are not collected
Our teams collect items any time up to 6pm on your collection day.
If your items are not collected, wait until the next day and then report a missed bulky item collection.
What happens to your items
We process collected items in the following ways:
- recyclable materials are separated and recycled
- some items are sent to the Greatmoor Energy from Waste plant
- suitable items may be reused at local recycling centres
Other ways to get rid of large items
You may be able to get rid of items in other ways:
- sell them using services such as Gumtree or Facebook Marketplace
- donate them to charities that collect items (British Heart Foundation or Aylesbury Vineyard Storehouse)
- give them away using reuse networks such as Freegle or LoveJunk
- take them to a household recycling centre
