Chilterns Crematorium 60th Anniversary Event

Join us as we honour 60 years of serving the community at Chilterns Crematorium.

Since opening in 1966, Chilterns Crematorium has provided compassionate care and support to generations of families. To mark this special milestone, we are opening our doors and inviting members of the community to discover more about the crematorium, local history and the important role they continue to play today.

The event forms part of the national Heritage Open Days celebration, giving visitors a unique opportunity to explore an important community facility that is not often seen beyond attending a service.

Throughout the event you'll have the opportunity to:

• discover the history of Chilterns Crematorium through displays and photographs
• learn about the local area through the 60's
• explore personal and family history, supported by our team through access to relevant crematorium records (access to any crematorium record will be managed in accordance with applicable data protection requirements)
• meet members of our friendly team and learn more about the services we provide
• enjoy refreshments in a relaxed and welcoming environment

Guests will have the opportunity to hear from Pete Healy of Amersham Museum, who will explore how the local area has changed since the 1960s, and Sir Peter Thornton KC, who will share insights from his award-winning book, The Later Years.

Attendance at the guest talks is free of charge.
