About polling stations, places and districts

Find the definitions below:

  • a polling station is the specific room or building in the polling place where voting happens
  • a polling place is the building or area in which a vote will happen
  • a polling district is the geographical area created by dividing up a parliamentary constituency

About the review

This review will look at the places where you go to cast your vote. Share your views on these proposals.

The consultation will be open from Monday 2 October 2023 to Monday 4 December 2023.

Any suggestions regarding Unitary ward and Parliamentary constituency changes are outside the scope of this consultation, and are not part of this review. Reviews of those boundaries have been carried out by separate organisations and we have included information about those current and future boundaries for information only.
