Priorities for 2022/23

The Housing, Homelessness and Regulatory Services Cabinet Portfolio has identified a number of priorities for the current council term.

Affordable housing

Priority: Development of affordable housing and requirements on private developments to include affordable housing for local people and key workers.

Outcome: Providing the homes our growing communities need. Reducing homelessness and addressing its root causes.

Eliminate rough sleeping

Priority: Maintain virtual elimination of rough sleeping across Buckinghamshire through integrated public health and wellbeing approach.

Address housing need

Priority: Continue to address housing need by working with partners and stakeholders.

Debt and homelessness advice

Priority: Work with residents to address issues such as debt or personal concerns which risk them becoming homeless.

Disabled Facilities Grants

Priority: Ensure that Disabled Facilities Grants are effectively targeted and delivered to support vulnerable households to adapt their properties.

Outcome: Ensuring our older, disabled, and vulnerable people receive the right support, at the right time.

Regulatory services

Priority: Delivering high quality regulatory services for residents and businesses in Buckinghamshire.

Outcome: Ensuring a well-regulated, fair-trading environment and level playing field for local businesses and residents.

Chilterns crematorium project

Priority: Delivery of the cremator replacement project at Chilterns Crematoria.

Outcome: Providing high standard services for bereaved families.

Unauthorised encampments policy

Priority: Development and implementation of Gypsy and Traveller unauthorised encampments policy

Outcome: Ensure a robust yet balanced methodology is delivered to bring about a proportionate response to unauthorised encampments.

Encourage partnerships with our services

Priority: Increasing the number of primary authority partnerships registered with Trading Standards and Environmental Health services.

Outcome: Supporting and advising businesses to comply with environmental health and trading standards.
