Support with applying for the EU Settlement Scheme
If you are an EU, EEA or Swiss citizen, you and your family can apply online to the EU Settlement Scheme to continue living in the UK after 30 June 2021. You can find out more about preparing for Brexit.
We have free wifi and public access PCs in all libraries.
Staff at all county libraries will signpost you to relevant webpages on the UK government website.
All libraries will provide unlimited free access to public computers to complete the online form and advise customers to allow sufficient time before library closes for the day.
All county libraries will signpost to the assisted digital service for those who are unable to complete the form online. This offers telephone advice and home visits as well as appointments at designated centres.
Before you can apply for the EU Settlement Scheme, you need to have your ID documents verified. This can be done by downloading the 'EU Exit: ID Document Check' app on your device and scanning your documents. More information, including compatible devices, is available on the government website.
If you do not have access to a suitable phone
Due to the Coronavirus outbreak and the requirement for people to stay at home the Registrars are unable to offer appointments or their walk-in service for ID verification. Please visit the government website where you can complete your own ID verification.
If you do not have access to a suitable phone and cannot go to an ID scanning location
If you cannot scan your documents using your phone, or go to a location to have your ID verified, staff at all county libraries will signpost to information on posting documents.
All county libraries have a list of documents you need to complete the application online, so you can check in advance you have the information you need. They also have a list of acceptable documents you may need if you need to provide evidence of UK residence.
All county libraries will support you to complete the online form in accordance with our Customer Charter For Digital Support. Libraries will facilitate access and maintain confidentiality but are unable to advise people what information they should input into an online form or complete an online form on behalf of someone. Those requiring assistance will be signposted as above.
Staff cannot assist with scanning documents on the phone or taking photos.
