COVID-19 vaccine facts and guidance

Vaccine facts

Vaccine differences

The vaccines that the NHS uses and in what circumstances will be decided by the MHRA. All vaccines are classed as being very effective.

Any vaccines that the NHS provide will have been approved because they pass the MHRA’s tests on safety and efficacy, so people should be assured that whatever vaccine they get, it is worth their while.

How the vaccine works

The vaccine works like any other vaccine you may have had - training our immune system to produce antibodies and cells to help fight infection.

The vaccine does not contain COVID-19 and cannot give you the virus.
