Food vouchers and support during the holidays

We currently provide food vouchers, free holiday activities and other support for eligible families during the school holidays.

Digital food vouchers

If your children receive free school meals or early years support then you are eligible for digital food vouchers during the 2021 summer holidays.

Food vouchers were sent out ahead of the summer holidays via schools and early years providers. You can use them at the supermarkets listed below and they can be split between different stores if needed.

  • Aldi
  • Asda
  • Marks and Spencer Food
  • Morrison's
  • Sainsbury’s
  • Tesco
  • Waitrose

Please contact your child's school or early years provider to:

  • apply for pupil premium or early years pupil premium
  • find out if your family is eligible for free school meals

Digital food vouchers are part of our Helping Hand initiative, supported by funding from the government COVID-19 Local Support Grant.

Free holiday activities

Free holiday activities and daily hot meals are available for children during the 2021 summer and Christmas holidays.

Your children can take part in various creative and physical activities including:

  • adventure activities
  • cooking
  • crafting
  • games
  • life skills
  • music production
  • sports

These local holiday clubs will also provide one healthy hot meal each day.

Children must be aged 5 to 16 years and eligible for free school meals to take part.

The Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme is funded by the Department for Education.
