The Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG)
If you are a business rates payer that has been forced to close during the national restrictions, you may be eligible for the Local Restrictions Support Grant.
To be eligible you:
- must have been trading on 4 November 2020 and have been required to close on 5 November 2020 by the government’s national restrictions
Non-essential retail premises such as public houses and cafes are still eligible to receive a grant if they continue to offer delivery and click and collect services, where items are pre-ordered without entering the premises.
A list of businesses that may qualify for the Local Restrictions Support Grant because they have been required to close can be found on GOV.UK: Businesses subject to restrictions.
You will not be entitled to this grant if:
- you have chosen to close (rather than being instructed to close by the Government) due to lack of trade during the month
- you remain open and have not been instructed to close by the Government, for example offices, factories, workshops and other small businesses
However, you may instead qualify for an Additional Restrictions Grant.
Businesses that do not qualify for the Local Restrictions Support Grant as they are not required to close can be found on GOV.UK: Businesses permitted to remain open.
|Rateable value||Amount of grant for the month|
Qualification for this scheme is based on whether you/your company is the business rates payer and your property is listed in the local non-domestic rates rating list.
You will be required to provide your business rates reference number.
Additional Restrictions Grant
