Requested changes to wards in Gerrards Cross
Following a request received from Gerrards Cross Town Council, Buckinghamshire Council’s Standards and General Purposes Committee agreed on 10 September 2024 that the parish warding for Gerrards Cross Town Council proceed to a Community Governance Review.
Proposal
Gerrards Cross Town Council requested that the current East and South wards be merged into one ward called Gerrards Cross South & East ward.
There was no proposed change to the council size.
Gerrards Cross Town Council proposed that the changes would better reflect the community identity, electoral equality and promote efficient and effective local government.
Consultation
A consultation on the proposal to merge Gerrards Cross Town Council’s South and East ward ran from Wednesday 11 September to Wednesday 23 October.

Final Recommendations
Feedback from the consultation was considered by the Standards and General Purposes Committee, along with other relevant information, on 14 November 2024.
The Committee agreed that Gerrards Cross Town Council’s South ward and East ward be merged and be called Gerrards Cross South ward to better reflect community identity, electoral equality and promote efficient and effective local government.
There were no additional direct costs to implement the proposal.

The final recommendations are published which means that the Community Governance Review has ended.
A Reorganisation Order was also agreed by the Committee which means the changes will take effect on 1 March 2025, in time for the next scheduled local elections on 1 May 2025.
