The HS2 Road Safety Fund

Apply for the HS2 Road Safety Fund

Who can apply

Applications should be from or endorsed by parish councils.

If you are not a member of the parish council, you will need to provide contact details for a member of the parish council in the application.

Eligibility

Successful applications will:

  • demonstrate that the fund will improve a road safety issue caused or made worse by HS2 construction activity
  • show that the proposed work will leave a legacy of road safety beyond the period of HS2 construction

Applications will not be successful if:

  • HS2 Ltd has already identified the issue and committed to funding or fixing it themselves
  • the road safety scheme relates to general maintenance which is covered by Buckinghamshire Council/Buckinghamshire Highways
  • you have already committed to having full funding for the scheme from another source
  • the proposed scheme conflicts with adopted national or local policy or strategy
  • work has already started on the proposed scheme

Before you apply

Before you make an application, we suggest that you contact your local Community Board to get their opinion. This is because they have the opportunity to comment on applications and could help evidence or promote your case.

Make your application

All applications will need to be submitted by parish councils (or by a parish meeting where there is no council).

Applications for Tranche 3 of funding are open and will close at 5pm on 31 July 2024.
